For booking appointments, ordering & collecting medication & general enquiries:
Monday to Friday
8.30am – 1pm
2pm – 6pm
Saturday 8.30am – 1pm
Out of Hours
When the surgery is closed our own dedicated vets provide emergency cover 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Should you need us you will be met by one of our team. If you are a client of the Alma Veterinary Surgery you can call us on our normal number 01723 360484 and you will be given information to contact the vet who is on duty.
Our small surgery does not have the capacity to provide emergency care for other practices so if you are usually registered elsewhere you need to call your own vets first to arrange out of hours emergency care with them. A new client registration fee will apply if you have not attended our surgery for a normal daytime appointment in the previous 3 years.
Consultations and Fees
We try to keep waiting times to a minimum, but due to emergencies delays are sometimes unavoidable.
If you are unable to attend an appointment please contact the surgery to make alternative arrangements. If you would like to see a particular veterinary surgeon please ask when making the appointment. Nurse appointments are available for procedures such as microchipping, suture removal, pet weighing etc.
We strive to keep our fees to a reasonable level. In return we ask that payment is made at the time of treatment. Payment is accepted by cash or most major debit/credit cards.
Reduced cost neutering vouchers may sometimes be offered by the Dogs Trust, the RSPCA and Cats Protection.
Out of normal surgery hours a supplement is charged in addition to our normal fees due to the higher cost of providing this service.
